Wrapping up February

Feb. 24-25, 2002

Not much to write these days. Getting a little bit pudgy because of the schedule. Don't get to exercise much, not more than once or twice a week when they throw us in the backyard/gymnasium portion of the CTM. And from there, it's usually Voleyball. (Basketball, as a side note, tends to make me unusually angry. I don't know if it's the years of churchball angst that built up inside me as a young man or the way others play, but man, I get revved up and pissed off when I play. Thus, no B-Ball outside of the school for me.)

Had a great meeting with Presidente Amorim. He really encouraged me and convinced me that I'll be able to speak Portuguese in no time. SO HOPE THAT IS TRUE!!!

Still the rollercoaster effect. Up and down from hour to hour. Sometimes the pressure settles on me like heavy netting, other times I feel like I'm on top of the world. Or at least, on top of Sao Paulo.

I haven't made the blog rounds in a while. Sorry. But I need to tell you that I love this new blog. It's so awesome to get a peak inside someone's personal thoughts like this. It's all the stuff that all the other missionaries feel and experience but don't really talk about. The ups and downs really come hour to hour. But throughout this blog, so far, you've really maintained a positive outlook and have focused on what's really important. 19 year old Eric is wicked cool! So thanks for sharing.
