Valentine's Day...CTM Style

February 14, 2002.

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Ha ha ha ha...Is the irony just hitting me, or is it obvious to everyone else?

Seriously, though, I talked to two sisters today, and I'm afraid I might have flirted with them. I'm not all that fluent in mission rules yet, but I'm sure that's probably against one of them...I should not delay my repentance.

Well, just finished my first day at the Brazil Missionary Training Center (MTC). Once we arrived in Sao Paulo, were met by two former missionaries outside of customs--one of them was named Marcio. They helped us exchange money and load our luggage onto two VW Buses. They call 'em Combes here, don't know why. And after that...let's just say that the drivers are insane here.

Had a meeting with the MTC president. My branch and District should be pretty cool. The guys in my room are alright too: Elders Lords, McAfee, and Melean. My companion, Elder Clark, is going to Manaus as well. Quick description? He's from Kanab and likes motorcycles.

First item of business in our companionship? We made a deal to work hard our entire time here. I hope that agreement will last.

It's raining pleasantly right now. And I'm tired...so very tired.

Oh well. Tomorrow is another day.
