Sunday.
Not as much of a lovely days as I had hoped this was going to be. Once again, I got frustrated/upset and lost the spirit. I am such a boner! Elder Clark is very worried about the language and now about being district leader, so he's understandably jittery. He checks everything with me twice and then makes sure I'm OK with it. I finally had to tell him to RELAX and to BE HIMSELF. I've quickly come to learn that an effective companionship consists of two individuals working towards a common goal, NOT two pieces of one entity trying to do different things.
We have a lot of down time here at the CTM, which makes me wonder how much of a shock the field is going to be. I'm kind of excited to get out there, though. As much as I'd like to learn and eat all the time, I'd rather be preaching the gospel. Those guys in America are so blessed to be speaking English. I've even heard some of the guys my age have had baptismos--sorry--batismos.
Other than my own impatience, had a great day of study, sabbath, and "LEGACY!" I never thought I could love a Mormon Movie more than I do this little flick. If nothing else, it allows me to be alone with my thoughts for about an hour.
Even in these short days, consisting of church meetings and meals, mostly, I've found that time is not quite flowing like I would like it. It's either too fast or too slow. Today, for instance, time feels like it's crunching, crashing and smashing forward like a Norwegian icebreaker. The only thing we can try and do is hold on and pray for a smooth ride.
Although, smooth rides are a whole 'nother subject I'll hit tomorrow.
BOA NOITE!!!

So I've been delving back into my journals to see where I was while you were out fighting the good fight. Turns out it was the Olympics here in SLC and campus was closed for those few weeks. My days consisted of snowboarding all day at Powder Mtn, eating chili in breadbowls afterwards and then sneaking into the Olympic Medals Plaza to see the bands playing (Foo Fighters and Dave Matthews were a couple of the venues!!). And that's about as detailed as I was in my journal. Tragic.
